Where Darkness Reigns

Plot

As the chronicle opens, the last full court of New Orleans was destroyed or run off by unknown forces. The Prince, his Council, and their minions, scattered or killed; the Elysium destroyed. Those coming to the city are left to carve out some semblance of order before it is lost for a long time to come. Theirs is also to discover who wiped out an entire court, in one of the most powerful cities in existence for both Vampire and Mortal, and why it was done. And, whether or not they are still a threat to those who have come to rebuild...

Your PC must explain in your BG or do the work in RP how you come to find this information out. The times of Worldwide politics and news in Vampire kind is over; just like in the real world, if you live in Chicago you don't automatically know the scoop in L.A. or NYC or Florida or Paris without making some calls, networking, etc.

The World of Darkness is a dark, shadowy world filled with creatures that live within the night. But unlike other roleplaying games, in World of Darkness (or WoD) you are not hunting the monsters. You are the monsters. WoD is a classic storytelling game about vampires, werewolves, witches, and warlocks. It is about a world of horror that lives in a veil right next to our world. Most of mankind is unaware that the supernatural world actually exists. That is, until they come face to face with it.

What's Expected of Me as a Player IC?

First and foremost -- be social! This is a social game and every player and storyteller expects each character to get out there and meet people, start conversations, make connections, get involved. It is terribly difficult to get a character involved if the character herself is a "loner" or misanthrope. Most plots and storylines attract other players through IC word of mouth, so getting involved with other characters, even if its just a passing familiarity, is a good way to get involved in the game. Secondly, work on your character's goals and portray her beliefs. This is the best way for other players and the Storytellers to get to know your character. Doing is so much cooler than planning. Lastly, have fun!

1. No Rping until approved by the Moderators

2. Para-posting IS a must. Quality is absolutely necessary. You will be required to do a "sample post" at the time of your application.

3. The Moderators have final say on all characters and or powers.

4. Please ensure you are at least familiar with the game idea. If you have never heard of WoD, that is fine but it is YOUR responsibility to do the research needed in order to play.

5. Respect your fellow players and the Moderators.

The Mod is there to keep arguments and obscene characters (in terms of power) from cluttering the room. As stated above, the Mod has final word in all arguments and whom is too powerful for the room. We are fairly relaxed Mods – if you have an independent bloodline, you’re welcome here, or if you have a unique creation you’d like to show off in WoD without the restrictions of most Mods, feel free to talk to us about it. If it winds up being too powerful, we’ll suggest a few tweaks to bring it in line with the room.
